K9 Nose Work
The fun, exciting, new "urban" sport!
The art and practice of nose work has now reached
dogs of all shapes and sizes and has made basic search dog skills
available to companion dogs, creating a new urban sport arena for dog
enthusiasts.
Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and a natural desire to hunt. The
sport of K9 Nose Work is designed to develop your dog’s natural scenting
abilities by using their desire to hunt and their love of toys, food and
exercise. It’s a great way for your dog to have fun, build confidence,
and burn lots of mental and physical energy.

Please review the requirements below so you may be prepared for the
first class. There is no class June 13th.

Six Sessions
Requirements (please bring with
you)
-
A crate
(dogs will be crated or put in vehicles when not working)
-
Plenty of high powered treats cut in small pieces
(or a toy if not food motivated)
-
A bait bag
-
A flat buckle or martingale collar
-
A 6' lead
(without any dangling items like poop bag holders)
-
Shoes you can work in
(no sandals or open toed shoes)
- The desire to have fun with your dog!
Rules and Regulations
- NO DOGS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES WITHOUT A COPY
OF CURRENT IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
- The same handler must handle the dog for the whole set of classes
- Dogs must have current identification (ID tag) on their
collars

- Since we close our classes when full, there are no
refunds once you have paid for class.
Holiday and Weather Closings
- Please call (908) 996-9911 two
hours before the start of your class to check for weather
related closings. If classes have been cancelled, the
machine will have a message stating so, otherwise,
classes are on schedule.
- Barking Hills is closed Independence Day weekend (July 4-6),
Labor Day
Camp: (September 3-6),
Columbus Day Camp (Oct
9), Thanksgiving (November 24-28), Winter Holidays
(December 24-January 2), Martin Luther King Day (Jan 18) and Memorial Day
week (May 21st -23rd
